LaVerne M. Jost, age 86 of Annandale, formerly Maple Lake, died Friday, October 5, 2007 surrounded by her family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 8, 2007 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake. Fr. Michael Izen will officiate and burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Annandale. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. In leiu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Timothy Catholic School.
LaVerne Mary Jost was born April 20, 1921 in St. Nicholas to Leo and Barbara (Matthieu) Schreifels. She married Phillip Jost on June 16, 1945 in St. Cloud and he preceded her in death on August 24, 1980. LaVerne lived in rural Maple Lake on their farm for 45 years. She was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church, Council of Catholic Women, and the SAM's Quilters. LaVerne loved to quilt, sew, play cards and garden.
She is survived by her children, Renee (James) Logeais of Annandale, Mary (Garrit) Memelink of Hastings, Kenneth (Sue) of Annandale, Daniel (Wendy) of Annandale, Judith (Douglas) Pederson of New London, JoAnn Pederson (Ted Maikkula) of Maple Lake, Brenda (Kevin) Raiche of Buffalo and Terri (Fred) Gunderson of Annandale; brothers and sisters, Ronnie (Bernard) Jost of Arizona, Bernie (Merrill) Crees of Minnetonka and Eileen Wenz of Sartell; sister-in-law, Aileen Weber of Dassel; 19 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Phillip; son, Phil Jr.; and sisters, Loretta Weber and Cyrilla Jost.
Pallbearers will be her children, Renee, Mary, Kenneth, Daniel, Judith, JoAnn, Brenda and Theresa. Krista Tarbox and Sarah Goelz will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care in Maple Lake.
