Kenneth W. Kern, age 72, of Clearwater died Thursday, February 6, 2014 at his home.

A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held 4-7 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale.  Burial will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, February 14, 2014 at Evergreen Cemetery, Aitkin.

Kenneth Walter Kern was born December 11, 1941 in Glencoe to Arthur and Leona (Schauer) Kern.  He graduated from Watertown High School.  Kenny worked as a farmer and as a warehouse foreman.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, morel mushroom hunting and gardening.

Ken is survived by his sons Kelly Sauter (Vickie Anderson) of Annandale and Timothy (Amy) Sauter of Cologne; grandchildren Rebecca, Janelle, Cole and Clayton; great granddaughter Sophie; mother Leona Kern of McGregor; sister Carol (Don) Dotzler of Nashwauk, Bob (Yvonne) Kern of Palisade, John Kern of Juneau, AK and Art (Dawn) Kern of Bemidji.  He is preceded in death by his father Arthur; and sisters Ruth Kern and Irene Olson.
