Julian H. Nyren, age 91, of 13093 Bayview Road, South Haven died Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at St. Benedict`s Senior Community, St. Cloud.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 3, 2004 at St. John`s Lutheran Church, Annandale with Rev. Scott Jakel officiating. Interment will follow in St. John`s Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church.
Julian Helmer Nyren was born August 29, 1912 in Shotley Township, Beltrami County to Julius Nyren and Hilda Carlson Dyrhaug Nyren. He married Corrine A. Unger on April 25, 1936 in Bemidji and she preceded him in death on September 7, 1999. For most of his life Julian was a welder. Until 1942 he farmed, carried rural mail, and logged in Shotley Township; from 1942-1944 he welded for the Department of Defense in Chicago; and from 1945-1950 Julian and Corrine owned & operated Julian`s Resort on Clearwater Lake near Annandale. He was Baptized and Confirmed in Bethany Lutheran Church, Shotley Township. Julian enjoyed his large family, hunting, and fishing.
He is survived by his 8 children & their spouses, Duane & Marilyn of South Haven, Dale & Sharon of South Haven, Colin & Karen of South Haven, Andrew & Denice (Daley) of Soldotna, AK, Gary & Jane of St. Cloud, Susie & Jim Cleveland of South Haven, Sandra & Milton Ransom of Annandale, Julie & Paul Janski of South Haven; sister, Mabel Mortenson of Kelliher; 23 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren. His wife, 1 granddaughter, 2 great grandsons, 1 sister, and 5 brothers preceded him in death.
