Obituary
Mr. John E. Waaraniemi, age 55, of Annandale died Sunday, May 22, 2005 at his lake home on Lake Louiso in rural South Haven.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2005 at Rockford Laestadian Lutheran Church, rural Rockford with his brothers, Ray and Keith Waaraniemi officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasantview Cemetery, Annandale. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to the funeral on Thursday at the church.
John Eric Waaraniemi was born July 23, 1949 in Minneapolis to John and Viola (Nelson) Waaraniemi. He served his Country during Vietnam in the U.S. Army. John married Angela Mitchell August 2, 1975 and they later divorced. He married Joan B. Heurung October 17, 1987. John lived in St. Cloud prior to moving to the Annandale and South Haven area 10 years ago. John and Joan own and operate Country Meadows, rural Annandale. He was a member of the St. Cloud VFW Post #428. John loved his family, friends, cooking, golfing, and riding his Harley.
John is survived by his wife, Joan of Annandale; 6 children, Erik (Cindy) Waaraniemi of Memphis, TN, Tina (Nicole) Waaraniemi of Little Falls, Ashley Waaraniemi of Annandale, Scott (Denette) Schrom of Elk River, Michelle (Mick) Olson of Ramsey, and Eric Schrom of Annandale; step mother, Esther Waaraniemi of Menahga; brothers and sisters, Kathy Helmke, Jean (Kermit) Ylitalo, Ray (Leanda), Keith (Kathy), Duane (Carol), Paul (Diane), Neil (Ruth), Mark, Ann, Ruth, and Dan (Marjo); and 9 grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his parents; and infant sister, Lisa.
Pallbearers will be Craig Williams, Rod Waara, Scott Gustafson, Scott & Eric Schrom, and Jimmy DeBoer. Music for the funeral provided by Lea & Ashley Waaraniemi.
