John "Mic" Petty, age 82, of Kimball, died Friday, September 4, 2026, at Good Shepherd Community in Sauk Rapids.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 19, 2026, at St. Anne Catholic Church, Kimball with visitation starting at 9:30 a.m. Fr. Donald Wagner will be the Celebrant. Burial will follow at Maine Prairie Cemetery.

John Michael Petty was born on March 20, 1944, at the St. Cloud Hospital to Lawrence and Sarah (Brosch) Petty. He grew up in Kimball, where he graduated from high school with the Class of 1962. Mic continued to call Kimball home throughout his life. Micky began his career at Knaus Sausage House in Kimball, and in 1980, alongside his brother, Jim, Micky co-founded Petty Brothers Meats. Mic became a well-known part of the Annandale community until his retirement in 2006. Mic and Jim's legacies continue today, as Mic's nephews now operate the family business.

On October 8, 1971, Micky married Rosann Konz at St. Anne's in Kimball. They made their home on Lake Carnelian near Kimball. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who was also an active member in the Kimball community. He was proud to be part of the Kimball Rod and Gun Club and served as a board member of the Kimball Golf Club. Mic enjoyed trap shooting, bowling, golfing, and fishing, often sharing these activities with friends and family.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rosann of Kimball; children, Natasha Scott of St. Joseph, Gary (Rachel) Petty of Sartell, and Jenny (Joseph) Sadler of Ham Lake; grandchildren, Austin, Anthony, Caroline, Elizabeth, William, Ally, and Colin. Micky was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Sarah Petty; brother, Jim Petty; sister-in-law, Paula Petty; and son-in-law, Mark Scott.

Gary Petty, Joe Sadler, Tom Petty, and Bob Petty will serve as urn bearers. Julene Faber-Andrusick will proved the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Kimball.
