John "Ben" Anderson, age 94, of Annandale died Sunday, November 11, 2007 at the Annandale Care Center.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 15, 2007 at the Albion Evangelical Free Church. Rev. Philip Geoffrion will officiate and burial will be in the Albion Evangelical Free Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
John "Ben" Anderson was born February 26, 1913 in Albion Township to J.F. and Ida (Rosenquist) Anderson. He married Ione Fiedler on August 26, 1939 in Middleville Township and she preceded him in death on April 15, 2002 in Buffalo. Ben owned and operated his farm for forty-eight years. He was a member of Albion Evangelical Free Church and of the ASCS Board in Buffalo for 10 years. Ben enjoyed fishing, hunting and baseball, especially watching the Twins. His number one priority was spending time with his grandkids, great grandkids and the rest of his family.
Ben is survived by his two daughters, Joyce Hall of Cokato and Judy Howard of Annandale; five grandchildren, Sharon (Wayne) Johnson of Raleigh, NC, David (Dawn) Swenson of Maple Grove, Eric Swenson of Kansas City, MO, Bret (Ann) Howard of Annandale and Katie (Jeff) Jones of Annandale; and 11 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ione (Fiedler) Anderson; son-in-law, Howard Hall; brothers, Ed and Russ Anderson; and sister, Ruby Fiedler.
Pallbearers will be David and Eric Swenson, Bret Howard, Jeff Jones, Jim and Bill Fiedler, Jon Larson and Wally Gloege. Beverly Lund, organist, Norma Geoffrion, pianist, and Rod and Marilyn Twitchell, vocalists will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
