Joan L. Sterling, age 78 of St. Cloud, formerly of Annandale and Minneapolis, died Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 27, 2010 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Annandale. Pastor David Nelson will officiate and burial will be at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, Saturday at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.

Joan Lucille Sterling was born September 2, 1932 in Minneapolis to Mathias and Louise (Maahs) Jung. She married Kenneth Herbert Sterling on July 3, 1950 in Northwood, IA. Joan grew up and lived in Minneapolis, before moving to Annandale in 1977. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Annandale. Joan enjoyed fishing, taking bus trips to the casino, wearing her jewelry and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her 5 children & their spouses, Mike & Margaret Sterling of Anoka, Linda & Gary Daniels of Princeton, Cynthia & Gregg Ellsworth of Plymouth, Shari & Randy Deopere of Maple Grove and Tim & Kim Sterling of Waite Park; brother, Jerry Jung of Minneapolis; twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers, Walter and Alfred.

Pallbearers will be Walt Jung, Scott Picken, Rob Morlock, Tylor Sterling, Gary Daniels and John Sterling. Orma Lou Jacobsma, organist and Jennifer Sterling Morlock, vocalist, will provide the music for the service.
