Joan M. Sheldon, age 81, of Kimball died on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at the Annandale Care Center.

Memorial Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at the Kimball Church of Christ with Pastor Kevin White officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at the Kimball Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Coborn Cancer Center. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Kimball.

Joan Marie Sheldon was born March 8, 1935 in French Lake Township to Wilmar and Nannie (Sandlund) Dahl. She grew up in Albion Center and attended school in Maple Lake. She was united in marriage to Wayne Sheldon on May 31, 1952 in Buffalo. They lived in Blaine and in 1972 moved to Kimball. Joan enjoyed Twins Baseball, Skip-Bo, scratchies, collecting antiques, bird watching, fishing, reading and walking.

Joan is survived by her eleven children Steven Sheldon of Phoenix, AZ, Sandra Pool of Litchfield, Karen (Wayne) Marquette of South Haven, Larry (Eileen) Sheldon of Le Center, Gary Sheldon of Watkins, Maynard Sheldon (Heidi Danelke) of Watkins, Jody (Steve) Brose of Annandale, Wayne Sheldon, Jr. of Fargo, ND, John (Debbie) Sheldon of Litchfield, Janet Larson of Dent and Dan (Lamina) Sheldon of Kimball; daughters-in-law Debbie Sheldon and Diane Sheldon; brothers and sisters Harvey Dahl of Phoenix, AZ, Donna Marsh of Minneapolis, Lou Dalton of Bloomington, Delores (Jim) Stevens of Elk River, Harry (Karen) Marsh of Litchfield and Marilyn (Melvin) Wellnitz of Wadena; 43 grandchildren and 60 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Wilmar Dahl and Nannie Dahl Marsh; step father Fred Marsh; husband Wayne; sons Jeff and Dennis; grandson Matthew Sheldon; brother Richard Dahl; and sisters Norma Marquette and Evelyn Sparks.

Joan's children will serve as pallbearers for the service.
