Jeannette M. Higgins, age 89, passed away peacefully with her daughters at her side on Monday, May 2, 2011 at the Annandale Care Center Big Woods Memory Loss Unit.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. with Memorial Services held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Bethany Bible Church, 511 Eagle Lake Road (Co Rd 5) in Big Lake.  The Rev. Brian Kite will officiate and the service will be followed by fellowship & dinner.  Private family interment will take place later at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Crystal.  Memorials are preferred to Annandale Health & Community Services.

Jeannette Matilda Higgins was born April 7, 1922 in Minneapolis to John & Philinda (Shugren) Peterson and married Ralph Higgins on September 20, 1941.  Jeannette was a seamstress and operated her own Drapery Business for 30 years retiring in 1985.  She enjoyed gardening and sewing.  For twenty years she & her husband owned a cabin near Aitkin and then for 20 years spent winters in Florence, AZ.

She is survived by her two daughters Yvonne Sondag (Rob) of Black Canyon City, AZ, Julie Lindahl (JR) of Monticello, lifelong friend Jeanette Buttonhoff of Rockford, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great great grandson.  Her parents, husband, and sister Phyllis preceded her in death.

Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
