James E. Stochl, age 74, died Saturday, September 3, 2005 at his home on Lake Sylvia. No formal visitation or service will be held. Memorials are preferred to Special Olympics. The arrangements are by Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
James E. Stochl was born February 9, 1931 in Owatonna to Frank and Elvera (Ganser) Stochl. He graduated from St. Paul Central High School and earned his Bachelor`s and PhD degrees from the University of Minnesota. Jim served during the Korean War as a medic in the United States Air Force. He was a Professor of Mathematics Education at the University of Minnesota for 40 years, retiring in 1998.
He is survived by his wife, Susan of South Haven; two sons & their wives, James & Beth of South Pasadena, CA, David & Karen of Danville, CA; three grandchildren, Christina, Mark, Rachel; and one brother.
