James E. Kastl, age 87 of Sugar Lake (Maple Lake) MN (formerly of Minneapolis) passed away surrounded by his loving family on January 20, 2010.
Jim was born on June 2, 1922 to Marie Anna (Menousek) and Frank Kastl in Omaha, NE.
He served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign. After the war he returned to Omaha to re-join his young family and was a Regional Salesman for 42 years for Industrial Chemical Laboratories. Jim then founded Concleco cleaning services in the Twin Cities. Upon his full retirement in the late 1970's, he and Mary enjoyed wintering in Mesa, AZ and the summers at their home on Sugar Lake. He was an avid sportsman and golfer.
Preceded in death by his parents Frank and Marie Anna Kastl; one infant daughter Mary, son Steve, daughter-in-law Dawn, grandson Josh; brother Frank; sisters Mayme and Teresa.
Survived by loving wife of 67 years Mary nee Carl, sons Tom (Linda), Chris (Mary), Mike (Terri), Matt (Ellen), Ken (Rose); daughter Ann Kastl (Mickey Fairbanks); daughters-in-law Norma, Bridget; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday with Prayer Service 7:00 p.m. at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, 305 Park St E, Annandale & after 9:30 a.m. Sat. at the Church. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Sat, Jan. 23 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 35 Birch St E, Annandale. Private inurnment at Ft. Snelling in the spring.
