Ione Andring, 70, Twin Valley, died peacefully Saturday, February 17, 2007 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at 10:30 AM in St. William Catholic Church, Twin Valley. Fr. Tom Friedl will officiate and music will be performed by Monica Winter. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren
Visitation will be Monday, February 19, 2007 from 5-7 p.m. with a rosary at 4:30 p.m. and prayer service at 7 p.m. in the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be in St. William Catholic Cemetery.
Ione was born on the family farm outside of Bagley on July 31, 1936, to Peter and Inger (Liane) Anderson. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Leonard, Minnesota. After completing country school, Ione attended Bagley High School and graduated with the class of 1954. She was united in marriage to Vernon Andring on November 26, 1955 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Mahnomen. Ione was confirmed into the Catholic faith at St. Joseph's in Rosen, Minnesota. Following their marriage, Ione and Vernon moved throughout the state to Grand Rapids, Madison, Kensington, Halstad and Bellingham before settling their family in Twin Valley in 1967. During this time, Ione worked various jobs, however her favorite occupation was to be a homemaker, where she was able to watch her daughters and grandchildren grow.
She was a member of St. William's Catholic Church, Rosary Altar Society, Twin Valley American Legion Auxillary and volunteered at Valley Pines Senior Center.
Ione enjoyed cooking and baking, needlework, gardening, bird watching, church events, attending her grandchildren's activities and visiting with family and friends. Ione's pride and joy was her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Vernon; four daughters, Diane Andring of Moorhead, Lynelle (Joel) Nysetvold, Denice (Kent) Stueness, Renae (Rick) Habedank all of Twin Valley; sisters, Irene (Harvey) Peterson of Spokane, Washington and Lillie (Al) Woosley of Louisville, Kentucky; brother, Norman (Sylvia) Anderson of Bagley; brother-in-law, Orville Swelland of Grand Rapids, MN; 10 grandchildren, Ryan (Krista) Andring, Mark, John (Rene) & Matthew Nysetvold, Brandon Stueness, Dana (Brian) Dingmann, Janna & Jordan Stueness, Andrea & Austin Habedank; 3 great grandchildren, Madison, Rhylee and Dylan; and other family members.
Ione is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Tillie Swelland and Esther Dawes; and great grandchildren, Alex and Taylor Dingmann.
Services are entrusted to Anderson Funeral Home of Twin Valley.
