Helen A. Puncochar, age 91, of Maple Lake died Monday, December 23, 2002 at Park View Care Center, Buffalo.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2002 at Bethlehem United Church of Christ, Maple Lake with Rev. David Martens officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Annandale. Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral on Friday at the church in Maple Lake.
Helen A. Puncochar was born March 8, 1911 in Wallace, SD to Albin and Thea (Hansen) Bergstrom. On January 15, 1933 she married Joseph L. 'Joe' Puncochar in Buffalo and he preceded her in death on February 11, 1976 in Maple Lake. Helen lived most of her life in Maple Lake where she was a member of Bethlehem United Church of Christ and Royal Neighbors of America. She was a homemaker and also cooked for various restaurants in Maple Lake. Helen has been a resident at Park View Care Center, Buffalo for the past 11 years. She loved her grandchildren, helping other people, and was known for being a great pastry chief.
Helen is survived by a daughter and son, Bette (Earl) Kalli of Longville and Louis 'Bud' Puncochar of Buffalo; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; sister, Cora Eggena; and brother, Tom Bergstrom.
Pallbearers will be Randy, Adam, Perry, and Joe Puncochar, Jerry and Matt Glunz. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin and Cheryl Kalli, Karin Kalli and Rollin Ryan, Krista Kalli, Kurt and Mimi Kalli.
Memorials are preferred to Bethlehem United Church of Christ, 400 County Road 37 E., Maple Lake, MN 55358.
