Obituary

Helen A. Puncochar, age 92, of Maple Lake died suddenly Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at her home in Maple Lake.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2008 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake. Fr. Michael Izen will officiate and burial will be in St. Timothy Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-10 a.m. Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. Parish Prayers will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Helen Antoinia Puncochar was born January 13, 1916 in Buffalo to Joseph and Antoinia (Pechous) Kaz. She married Ernest "Dutch" Puncochar on May 20, 1939 in Monticello. They lived and farmed in Maple Lake Township. Helen was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church where she was active in the CCW. She was also a member of the Western Fraternal Life Association and was a great volunteer for the P.I.E. organization in the Maple Lake Elementary School. Helen enjoyed working in her garden, making quilts, reading and feeding her kids.

She is survived by her children, Carole Erickson of Milaca, Mary (Len) Gilles and Ernie (Bernette) Puncochar both of Maple Lake; brothers and sisters, Ed (Donna) Kaz of Annandale, Gen Weiman, Ann (Richard) Davis and Betty Yager all of Monticello; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Harry Kaz; son-in-law, Bob Erickson; and infant sister, Rosella.

Pallbearers will be Carole and Kirk Erickson, Mary and Len Gilles, Ernie and Bernette Puncochar. Krista Elsenpeter Tarbox and Sarah Geolz will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Maple Lake.
