Hazel Eleanor Johnson, age 96 of South Haven, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. She ran into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Saturday, October 3, 2015.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Zion United Methodist Church in South Haven with Rev. Ruth Hograbe officiating.  Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery in South Haven.  Visitation will be held at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society

Hazel was born in Annandale on July 14, 1919 and graduated from Annandale High School with the Class of 1938.  She married the love of her life LeRoy Johnson on June 6, 1940.  They built a home on Lake Augusta in South Haven where they farmed and celebrated 59 ½ years together.  Hazel was best known for her role as the Head Cook at Annandale schools where she loved caring for the nutritional needs of the students for over twenty years.  Hazel made sure when visitors came over that no one ever went hungry, and was best known for her Donuts and Goulash.

She was preceded in death by her parents Elsie and Jesse Marquardt; her loving husband of 59 ½ years, LeRoy Johnson; two brothers Emery and Stanley Marquardt; and an infant sister.

Hazel is survived by her daughter Darlene Lebrun; son Rodney Johnson; and sister Pearl Bissonnette all of South Haven; 2 sisters-in-law, Ella Johnson of Annandale, and Geraline Schut of Buffalo.  She was blessed with an abundance of family with 7 grandchildren John Jr. (Cindy) LeBrun, Jim (Barb) LeBrun, Scott (Darcy) LeBrun, Jay (Lori) LeBrun, Melissa (Scott) Olson, Heidi (Marty) Springborg, and Nikki Johnson.  Along with 15 great grand children John III, Justin, Christopher, Ashley, Ryan, Madison, Jason, Laura, Austin, Brooke, Gabrielle, Mekayla, Ryan, Emma and Henry; and 5 great great-grandchildren Andrew, Isabella, Harper, Lilly and Mackenzie.

The pallbearers will be John Jr., James, Scott and Jay LeBrun, Scott Olson, Marty Springborg and Ryan Olson.  Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
