Harold 'Bud' 'Aus' Van Vleet, age 88 of St. Cloud and formerly of Kimball, died Saturday, November 3, 2007 at the St. Benedict Senior Center in St. Cloud.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at the Kimball United Methodist Church. Dr. Peter Law will officiate and burial will be in the Kimball Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Monday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
Harold L. 'Bud' 'Aus' Van Vleet was born March 7, 1919 in St. Cloud to Harry and Mae (Lennox) Van Vleet. He served his country with the US Army in World War II. Aus married Nina Kennedy on October 4, 1946 at the Kimball United Methodist Church. He worked as a painter for the VA Hospital for 32 years, retiring in 1979. Bud then worked at the Kimball Golf Club for 11 years. He was a member of the Kimball United Methodist Church and served as a Boy Scout leader for many years. Aus was a avid hunter, fisher, bowler and golfer.
He is survived by his wife, Nina; children, Lyndon (Debbie) of St. Cloud, Sara (Larry) Fischer of Clearwater, Alan (Wendy) of Kimball, Roger (Julie) of St. Cloud, Steve (Sherri) of St. Cloud and David (special friend, Sarah Dombrovski) of Kimball; brother, Ellwood (Evelyn); 18 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Jeff in 1968; four brothers, Howard, Waldo, Dean and Myron; and two sisters Goldie Johnson and Gladys Johnson.
Pallbearers will be Kamille Garding, Jenni Thompson, Chris, Matt, Mitch and Jeff Van Vleet. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Kimball.
