Harold W. Johnson, age 85, of 9022 Montgomery Ave NW, Annandale died Sunday, April 6, 2008 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Annandale with Rev. DJ Lura officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to services at the Church. There will be a prayer service 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials are preferred to St. John's Lutheran Church.
Harold Wilton Johnson was born April 11, 1922 in Southside Township, Wright County on the farmstead that he lived his entire lifetime. He married Esther J. Peterson on October 21, 1950 in Maple Plain. Harold was a farmer, a cement finisher, and from 1965-1987 was a custodian at the Annandale High School. Since his retirement he has worked at the County Park on Pleasant Lake. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, its Bible Study Group, and the Annandale Historical Society. He enjoyed gardening and his coffee time.
He is survived by his wife, Esther of Annandale; children, Laura (Gerald) Stoppelman of Buffalo, David of Annandale, Bruce (Shelley) of Lawrenceville, GA; sister in law, Doris Johnson of Annandale; three grandchildren Amy & Christopher Johnson and Arron Stoppelman. He was preceded in death by sisters & brothers, Ruth Schmidt, Hazel O'Keefe, Bernice Urbanski, George, Earl, and Wayne Johnson.
The pallbearers will be Jim, Lyndon, & Floyd Johnson, Gerald & Arron Stoppelman, and Chuck Twedt. Curt Johnson will be an honorary pallbearer. The music for the service will be provided by Orma Lou Jacobsma, organist, Judy Johnson, Earl & Lo Peterson, vocalists. The arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
