Obituary
Mr. Harold Dale Gunnerson, age 76, of South Haven died Saturday, June 28, 2003 in Morton.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at Lake Union Covenant Church, South Haven with Rev. Mike McCain officiating. Burial will be Thursday, July 3, 2003 in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. Friends may call from 4-8 Tuesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to the funeral. There will be a prayer service 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Harold Dale Gunnerson was born July 13, 1926 in Annandale to Joseph and Lillian (Gille) Gunnerson. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II and the Korean Conflict. He married Eileen Gillitzer in 1950 and they later divorced. He married JoAnn M. Biever June 27, 1967. Harold lived in the Annandale area all his life where he was in the construction business, retiring in 1988. He attended Lake Union Covenant Church, South Haven and was a life member of Maple Lake VFW Post # 7664, and life member of Disabled American Veterans. Harold loved his family, visiting with friends, and animals.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn of South Haven; daughters, Laura (Dave) Graham of North Pole, AK, Julie Gunnerson-Varner and her husband, Bruce Varner of South Haven; step children, Sharie (Gordy) Carlson of Denver, CO; and Randy (Julie) Sterriker of Kimball; mother, Lillian Gunnerson of Florence, MT; brothers, Marvin of Kimball, John of Annandale; sisters, Mary Arlt of Roseville, Lucy (Milton) Schmidt of Kimball, Judy (Lee) Nothnagel of Florence, MT; mother in law, Ann Boersma of Annandale; 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Craig Carlson, Mitch Carlson, Jimmy & Cory Slentz, Matthew Graham, and Bruce Varner.
Music for the funeral provided by Marleigh Rumsey and Carole Looman.
Arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
