Mr. Harold W. Dircks, age 87, of Maple Lake died Tuesday, October 21, 2003 at the Annandale Care Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 23, 2003 at St. Timothy`s Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Father Mark Huberty officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Annandale. Friends may call from 4 - 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9-10 a.m. Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. There will be a prayer service 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel in Maple Lake.
Harold William Dircks was born July 28, 1916 at Maple Lake to Jerry and Mary (Hesse) Dircks. He was raised in Maple Lake and attended country school in Corinna Township, Wright County. On May 18, 1943 he married Mildred Helena Wurm in St. Timothy`s Catholic Church, Maple Lake. Harold and Mildred lived near Maple Lake where they farmed from 1943 until 1968. In 1968 they moved to Annandale where Harold continued to work as a carpenter until retiring in 1983. In August of 2002 they moved to the Maple Manor Apartments, Maple Lake. Harold was a member of St. Timothy`s Catholic Church, Maple Lake and former member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Annandale. He was a long time member of Father O`Brien`s Council Knights of Columbus #3613 of Annandale and Maple Lake. Harold loved his family, church, helping his sons with carpentry projects, woodworking, playing cards, and bingo. He loved his garden and flowers, especially his roses.
Harold is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mildred of Maple Lake; sons, Jim (Janice) of Plymouth, John (Joan) of Minneapolis, Ron (Linda), Dennis (Jeannine), Kevin (Cindy) all of Annandale; brother, Ben (Mary) of Maple Lake; sisters, Lillian Logeais and Luella Nelson both of Annandale; 14 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Francis and Ed; sisters, Eleanor, Adeline, Emily, and Alice.
Pallbearers will be Tony, Bill, Ryan, Troy, Aaron, Jason & Brian Dircks. Honorary Pallbearers will be Theresa Heimkes, Doreen, Mary Ann, Carrie, Molly, Jenna, & Traci Dircks. Music for the funeral provided by St. Timothy`s Resurrection Choir.
