Gregory F. Rassat, age 66, of Maple Lake, died Wednesday, July 31, 2019 surrounded by his loving family at his home after a battle with liver cancer. Funeral Services will be held 12:00 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2019 at Heartland Evangelical Free Church in Annandale with Pastor Denny Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Highland Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Thursday, August 8, at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Maple Lake and one hour prior to the funeral on Friday at the church. Memorials are preferred to Haitian Ministries, C/O Dassel Church of Christ. Gregory Francis Rassat was born October 16, 1952 in Buffalo to Leo and Grace (Wurm) Rassat. He attended St. Mary's Catholic School until it closed in 1970 and graduated from Howard Lake-Waverly High School with the Class of 1971. He enlisted in the US Army Reserves during the Vietnam War. On June 22, 1985, Greg was united in marriage to Lisa Ludwig at St. Mary's Catholic Church. They made Maple Lake their home and were blessed with three children. Greg worked as a heavy equipment operator, was a member of the Union Local 49ers, and retired from Northdale Construction Company in Rogers. He enjoyed the time he spent with his children, grandchildren and especially his horses. Greg is survived by his wife, Lisa Ludwig-Rassat; three children, Daniel (Kate) Rassat of Maple Lake, Abigail Rassat (Jonathan Boey) of Tucson, AZ and Aaron (Kiona) Rassat of Olympia, WA; four grandchildren, Hudson, Landon, Noah and Vaiola; brothers and sisters, Thomas Rassat of Buffalo, Kay Manteuffel of Elk River, Mary Rassat of Monticello, Lloyd (Barbara) Rassat of Buffalo, John (Karen) Rassat of Waverly, Timothy (Vonnie) Rassat of Winsted and David Rassat of Minneapolis; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herbert and Michelle Ludwig. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Grace Rassat; three infant siblings, Joan, Mark and Michael; nephew, Patrick Rassat; brother-in-law Gary Manteuffel; and mother-in-law, Theresa Ludwig.
