Gregory Donald Miller was born on July 24, 1948, in St. Cloud, Minnesota, to Warren and Dolores (Langanki) Miller. Greg was a 1966 graduate of Annandale High School. On June 9, 1973, he married his best friend, Diane Anderson in St. Cloud. They lived in Annandale where they raised their family. Greg's 30 year career as a maintenance custodian at the Annandale School District underscored his diligent work ethic until he retired in 2010. He enjoyed driving students on the school bus, taking them to and from school, sports and extracurricular events. He had immense pride in his hometown and enjoyed keeping up with Annandale High School sports. Greg was especially proud of the 25 years he spent volunteering as a firefighter and EMT with the Annandale Fire Department.
Greg enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping adventures, often accompanied by family and friends. He enjoyed working on snowmobiles and restoring his 1957 Chevrolet. He joined the Friday night car shows on Main Street. He was an ultimate gear-head.
In his retirement years, Greg found a talent for wood carving and turning. He enjoyed showcasing his craftsmanship, especially by making sewing tools for his wife and daughters. Greg and Diane spent the last nine winters in Casa Grande, Arizona. Above all, Greg enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Diane; children, Holly (Kevin) Bergstrom of Elk River, Dana (Travis) Shepard of Prior Lake, and Elizabeth (Chris) Bennett of Andover; grandchildren, Harvey, Henry, Callie, and Brooklyn; siblings, Ellen Chapin, Rick (Sandy) Miller, Lester (Pam) Miller, Michael (Kathy) Miller, and Mark (Deb) Miller; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Dolores; and brother-in-law, Gregg Chapin.
His sons-in-law and grandsons will serve as urn bearers. Krista Elsenpeter and Shannon Paumen will provide music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Annandale.
