Glendale W. Rumsey, age 90, of rural Kimball, died Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at the Memory Cottages in the Annandale Care Center.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Lake Union Covenant Church, South Haven with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Tyler Menssen will officiate. Burial will follow the service at the church cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Lake Union Covenant Church.

Glendale Wayne Rumsey was born July 28, 1933, on the family farm in Kingston Township, Meeker County, to Alvin and Minnie (Ertl) Rumsey. Glendale's love of farming began at an early age and continued through his lifetime. He attended school in Kimball, graduating in 1951. Glendale honorably served his country in the United States Navy. Upon his discharge, Glendale returned home to continue his passion of farming. He lived his entire life on the family farm.

Glendale was a longtime member of Lake Union Covenant Church where he served as chairman of the church and cemetery, and taught Sunday School. He also served as sexton of the North Kingston Cemetery and was a member of the Kingston American Legion Post #483. He was a member of several farm associations, including past President of the Farmers Union. He enjoyed crafting gifts out of wood, capturing family events on video, and sharing his garden vegetables and flowers.

He is survived by his sister, Eileen Dedrick of Arthur City, TX; sister-in-law, Marleigh Rumsey of Annandale; nieces and nephews, Gail, Bruce, Lou Ann, Mary Lynn, Michael, Julie, Steven, James, Loree, Jeffrey, Debra, and Dawn; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Eugene and Gerald Rumsey; sisters, Frances Paulson and Viola Snow; sisters-in-law, Darlene and Vernette Rumsey; brothers-in-law, Walter Paulson and Stanley Snow; nephew, Merlin Paulson; and great-nephew, Tronn Paulson.

Glendale's nephews will serve as casket bearers. Music will be led by Lori Klippenes. Arrangement are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Kimball.
