Gladys (Schimschock) Atkins, age 91, of 8429 91st Street NW, Annandale died Saturday, March 10, 2007 at her home. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at a later date. Memorials are preferred to Camp Friendship.
Gladys Grace Atkins was born May 16, 1915 in Minot, ND to Elmer and Minnie (Enquist) Evenson. She married Clarence `Schim` Schimschock on November 9, 1946 in Duluth and he preceded her in death on July 8, 1973. She was employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone, Minneapolis for 30 years, retiring in 1973. Gladys has lived at Annandale on Cedar Lake since 1969 and married Robert L. Atkins on October 29, 1992 in Annandale. She was a member of St. John`s Lutheran Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Gladys enjoyed her family & friends, reading, cooking, and bird watching.
She is survived by her husband, Robert of Annandale; daughter, Ann Lamb of Annandale; grandson, Erik Lamb, his wife Jocelyn & their children, Madison, Kody, Allyson & Kaitlyn; granddaughter, Heidi Lamb of Breckenridge, CO; step daughter, Betty (Arlen) Gunderson of Enumclaw, WA; sisters, Shirley (Doug) Dunker of Battle Lake, LaVonne Bishara of Austin, TX; sister in law, Mary Evenson of Perham; also many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband, brother, Donald Evenson and sisters, Vivian Welch & Audrey Peterson.
