Obituary

Gladys Ardolf, Maple Lake, passed away on December 26 at the age of 78 from complications of a fall she had from a barn loft ladder when she was 16 months old in 1931. Approximately fifty years later that fall inflicted the neurological condition of dystonia and around 25 years later caused a debilitating seizure.

Gladys had a wonderful life. She raised four children and later enjoyed learning and knowing the plots, plans and plats of Wright County while working in the Assessor's office for 15 years after her husband's (Leo) death in 1979. Gladys cherished 12 years of retirement with her constant feline companions who she loved almost more than life itself. She also read multiple newspapers every day, finished crossword puzzles in ink, avidly watched and complained about political programs on TV, and ate a lot of Dairy Queen chocolate ice cream cones.

Gladys is survived by her dedicated children and their spouses, Lois (Doug) Lipinski, Marlys Ardolf (Dean Melton) all of Maple Lake, Tom (Susie) Ardolf, Waite Park, and Doris Thompson (Michael Cloyd), Mansfield Texas. 'Gladdie' will be missed by her siblings, Mary, Ted and Cyril Popelka of Glencoe, and Martha (Willard) Urban, Silver Lake.

A Mass will be held at St. Timothy's Church in Maple Lake on December 29 at 11AM. Family and friends can visit one hour prior in the church. A private burial is planned.
