Gertrude D. Stuve, age 93 years and 5 months, of Watkins and formerly of Fair Haven went home to her Savior on Monday, December 8, 2008 at the Hilltop Care Center.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 12, 2008 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Fair Haven. Rev. Timothy Nerud will officiate and burial will be in the Concordia Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball and one hour prior to services Friday at the church. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to Concordia Lutheran Church, Fair Haven or Hilltop Care Center, Watkins.

Gertrude Dorothy Stuve was born July 8, 1915 in South Haven to Carl and Anna (Renken) Blumke. She married Oscar Stuve on April 25, 1932 in Minneapolis and he preceded her in death on February 22, 1989. She was a homemaker, farmer and seamstress. Gertie was a lifetime member of Concordia Lutheran Church; she was baptized and confirmed there. She enjoyed being with her family, playing cards, gardening, puzzles, art projects and fishing.

Gertie is survived by her children, Rollin (Dorothy) of Fair Haven, Verna Lea (Arlen) Salmela of Fair Haven and Judy James of St. Cloud; sisters and brother, Mabel Kennedy of Kimball, Elvin (Bonnie) Blumke of St. Cloud and Loretta Hokkala of South Haven; daughter-in-law, Marcia Stuve of Staples; sister-in-law, Lavern Blumke of Mesa, AZ; 11 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 28 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Oscar; parents, Carl and Anna; son, Larry; son-in-law, Richard James; brothers, Lenhard and Harold Blumke; sister, Eleanor Kriedman; sister-in-law, Lillie Blumke; brothers-in-law, Robert Kriedman, Albert Schacht, Ross Kennedy and Don Hokkala.

Pallbearers will be Guy, Kirt and Shawn Stuve, Vance Salmela, Mike Schlueter and Roger Stewart. Mary Ann Reichard will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Kimball.
