Mr. Gerald T. 'Jerry' Cantin, age 65, of Annandale died Saturday, March 4, 2006 at North Memorial Medical Center, Robbinsdale.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at Zion Lutheran Church, Annandale with Rev. Thomas Queck officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Annandale. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake and one hour prior to the funeral on Wednesday at the church. There will be a prayer service 7:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Gerald Thomas 'Jerry' Cantin was born December 19, 1940 in Maple Lake to Louis O. and Marie K. (Hansen) Cantin. He married Shirley E. Mistelske on November 15, 1958 in Monticello. Jerry lived in the Maple Lake area all his life where he owned and operated Watson Turf. Jerry was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Annandale. He loved his family and friends, enjoyed cooking, hunting and fishing.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Shirley of Annandale; sons, Rick (Julie) of Buffalo, and Russ (Kari) of Annandale; sisters, Donna (Floyd) Sawatzke of Maple Lake, Delores Rand of Bloomington, and Mary Ann Schwab of Minneapolis; brothers, Morris (Ruth) of Minneapolis, and James (Barb) of Big Lake; grandson, Jeremy and special friend, Jen Oemichen; and granddaughter, Amanda and fiancAC., Dustin Trautner. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter; and brothers, Arthur, Francis, and Bob.
Pallbearers will be Dan Jost, Jerry Sawatzke, Jake Bruns, Tom Zupan, Dave Olson, and Jim Cantin, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Abby Jewett, Larry Jewett, Blake Bjorklund, Rick Geyen, Harvey Engelman, and Donald Ortez. The organist for the funeral will be Julie Starke.
