George E. Rasmussen, age 81, of South Haven died Saturday, January 3, 2015 at the V.A. Medical Center in St. Cloud.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale with Pastor Orval Wirkkala officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
George Einar Rasmussen was born September 12, 1933 in Duluth to Einar and Edna (Wright) Rasmussen. He graduated from high school in 1951 and attended the University of Georgia specializing in economics and commerce. George served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War; he was stationed in Colorado Springs. He w orked as a credit manager at Montgomery Ward, a banker in St. Petersburg, FL and was a landlord. George enjoyed his pets and traveling across the world.
He is survived by a daughter Elizabeth Ellen. He is preceded in death by his parents, Einar & Edna Rasmussen and a sister Jane Riedel.
Elizabeth Wirkkala, Pat Schauer and Cheryl Jarl will provide the music for the service. Military Honors will be provided by the Ft. Snelling Memorial Rifle Squad. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
