George P. Fox, age 88, of Maine Prairie Township, Stearns County died Thursday, January 24, 2008 at his home.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday, January 28, 2008 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Kimball with Rev. Dave Milz officiating. Burial will follow in the Kimball Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Sunday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball and one hour prior to services at the Church. There will be a prayer service 6 p.m. Sunday.
George Paul Fox was born March 11, 1919 in Fair Haven Township, Stearns County to Paul and Dora (Filbert) Fox and attended country school until Eighth Grade graduation. He married Loretta Kuseske on May 16, 1940 and together they farmed until 1981. George also did Custom work for other area farmers. He was the pitcher on the baseball team and loved to bowl. After retirement and until suffering a stroke in 1999 George enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and loved family gatherings, traveling, and playing card games.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Loretta of South Haven; children & their spouses, Janice & Ron Kunkel of Luxemberg, DeLayne & Ron Erpelding of Willmar, Delvin & Paulette Fox of South Haven, LaNaye & Lester Schauer of Glencoe, DelRay of South Haven; 12 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Gary Kunkel; brothers, Frank & John; and sisters, Mary & Emma.
The pallbearers will be Kurt, Keith, & Kraig Kunkel, Ben Fox, Sarah Jurek, and Ramona Thorpe. Jeremy Schauer will be an honorary pallbearer. The organist for the service will be Nancy Libberg and the arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care.
