George J. Erger, age 84, of Maple Lake died Saturday, March 18, 2006 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2006 at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Father Victor Valencia officiating. Burial will follow in St. Charles Catholic Cemetery, Maple Lake. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. There will be a prayer service 6:30 p.m. Friday.

George Joseph Erger was born January 27, 1922 in Norway, IA to George and Edna (Schlotterback) Erger. George served his Country in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He married Lois E. Foster on June 15, 1948 in Sioux Falls, SD. George was an accountant for more than 25 years with Parkway Auto Transport, Clearwater, MN. George moved to the Kimball area from South Dakota in 1969 and has lived in Maple Lake the past 14 years. George was a member of St. Timothy's Catholic Church, Maple Lake, charter member of the Knights of Columbus in Brookings, SD, Father O'Brien's Council Knights of Columbus of Maple Lake and Annandale, and member of the Kimball American Legion Post #261. He loved his family, playing cards, collecting stamps and coins, watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports, and reading books by Louis L'Amour.

George is survived by his wife, Lois of Maple Lake; 10 children and their spouses, Susan (Tom) Settje of Grand Junction, CO, Patty (Randy) Settje of Spring Creek, NV, Robert of Waco, TX, Dan of Brighton, CO, John of Maple Lake, Colette VanVleet and friend, Bob Marschel of Watkins, Rebecca Sitz of Willmar, Barb Kenney of Hutchinson, Mark (Natalie) of Chesapeake, VA, and Lori Erger of Willmar; sister, Anna (Darrel) Anderson of Sioux Falls, SD; 19 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Aaron; brothers, Lawrence, Richard, and Vernon; and sister, Mary Jane Erger.

Pallbearers will be Travis Erger, Jonathon Magnell, Brady Kenney, Tony VanVleet Music for the funeral provided by Krista Elsenpeter Tarbox and Sarah Goelz.

Arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care, Maple Lake.
