George E. Dahnke, age 88, of Kimball died Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at St. Anne`s Catholic Church, Kimball with Fr. Tom Knoblach officiating. Burial will follow in Maine Prairie Cemetery, Kimball. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday and 8:30-9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball. There will be a prayer service 7 p.m. Monday.
George Emmons Dahnke was born January 1, 1917 to Henry and Lucinda (Curtis) Dahnke in Maine Prairie Township where he farmed his entire working life until moving into Kimball in 1981. George married Virginia L. Petty on December 25, 1952 in Kimball. He was a member of St. Anne`s Church and enjoyed family, friends, hunting, fishing & card playing.
George is survived by his wife of 53 years, Virginia `Peg` of Kimball; children, Dauna (Gary) Beack of St. Cloud, Dan (Sheila) Dahnke of Kimball; stepdaughter, Joyce Kirchoff of Hutchinson & her friend, Gary Pramann; grandchildren, Andrea, Jason (Tammy) Beack, Darcy (Jim) Konz, Kristine, Brenda, Jeremy & David Dahnke; step grandchildren, Amy, Brian & Scott Kirchoff; great grandchildren, Marissa Konz & Andrew Beack; sister, Luella Theis of Sartell and brother in law, Urban Boos of Buffalo. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jacqueline Kay Dahnke; brothers, Chester & Eldon; and sisters, Agnes Boos & Marcella Dahnke.
The pallbearers will be Andrea & Jason Beack, Amy & Scott Kirchoff, Jeremy & David Dahnke. The music for the service will be provided by St. Anne`s Choir with Frosty Schiefelbein, organist.
