Genevieve K. Preuss, age 80 of Maple Lake died suddenly Sunday, September 7, 2008.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake. Fr. Michael Izen will officiate and burial will be in St. Timothy Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. Parish prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Genevieve Kathryn Preuss was born July 27, 1928 in Bismarck, ND to Al and Agnes (Heley) Kuemper. She graduated from high school in Lidgerwood, ND with the class of 1946. Gen married Donald Preuss on April 22, 1950 in Worthington, MN. Together, they would travel to construction jobs that Don was working on. In 1955, they moved to Maple Lake. Gen was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church, Council of Catholic Women, Maple Lake VFW Auxiliary Post 7664 and the Maple Lake American Legion Post 131. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, playing cards, watching sports and gameshows on TV, and especially loved being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Genevieve is survived by her husband, Donald; children, Karen (David) Peterson of South Haven, Sharen (Ken) Beise of Buffalo, Lori (Tom) Kuschel of Maple Grove and Brenda (Larry) Fobbe of Maple Lake; sister, Aileen Astrup of Jamestown, ND; brother, Al Kuemper of Huntsville, AL; eight grandchildren, Tracy, Trista, Troy, Miranda, Janelle, Chad, Jaime and Craig; and six great grandchildren, Taylor, Kyler, Ellalena, McKenna, Cadence and Kane. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Tracy Beise Hettwer, Trista Beise Conzet, Troy Beise, Miranda Kuschel, Janelle Kolle, Chad Kuschel, Jaime Maus and Craig Fobbe. Marge Pavlik, organist and the Resurrection Choir, vocals will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Maple Lake.
