Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 15, 2026, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Annandale with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Pastor Todd Nelsen will officiate.
Gary Arthur Geisinger was born in St. Cloud, Minnesota, to Arthur and Ruby (Vadner) Geisinger on October 22, 1943, and spent his life exemplifying the values of hard work and dedication. He was raised just south of Annandale city limits, where he cultivated deep roots.
Gary was a 1961 graduate of Annandale High School and went on to earn an associate degree in mechanical engineering from Dunwoody Institute. He began his career at Soo Line Railroad before joining Mammoth Industries in Plymouth, where for over 34 years, he served as a Senior HVAC Engineer. Gary's unwavering dedication to his work was matched only by his insatiable desire to remain active.
Gary's love story with Beryl Rathje began innocently in the fourth grade with a May Day basket, blossoming into a beautiful marriage on October 12, 1963, at Zion Lutheran Church in Annandale. Together, they built a life rich in faith and love, celebrating almost 64 years of partnership.
Gary had a love for Jesus. He was a dedicated member of St. John's Lutheran Church for 58 years, where his faith was evident, particularly in his role as head of property grounds and as a member of the church council. He was also a member of Red Wing Pottery Association, Watt Pottery Association, and St. Cloud State Men's Basketball Boosters.
Gary embraced life to the fullest, fueled by his deep love for his family and community. As a part-time farmer and passionate antique enthusiast, he cherished every adventure alongside his beloved wife, Beryl. Gary was never one to remain idle; a gifted problem-solver, he was the first person family and neighbors turned to for yard projects, and he proudly served as a dedicated groundskeeper for local residents. He and Beryl were also mainstay fixtures at sporting events, passionately cheering on the Annandale Cardinals, St. Cloud State Huskies, Minnesota Gophers, and Minnesota Lynx. From tending his gardens and landscaping to watching tractor pulls, Gary lived each moment with zest. Above all, he poured that boundless energy into his family, bringing pure joy to every gathering and creating memories that they will cherish forever.
He is survived by his wife, Beryl of Annandale; children, Rhonda Schermer and Jennifer (Troy) Tamm, both of South Haven, and Jeff (Diana) Geisinger of Annandale; grandchildren, Christopher (Marissa) Schermer, Stephanie (Alex) Evavold, Morgan (Brent) Hungerford, Bennett McCollow (fiancee McKenna), Brandon Buschel, and Jaden Geisinger; great-grandchildren, Jakob, Maverick, Dakota, and Knox Schermer, Hudson, Hayden, and Henley Evavold, and Baylor, Brecken, Boden, and Maeve Hungerford; siblings, Ron (Mary Ann) Geisinger and Kevin (Susie) Geisinger, both of Annandale; brother-in-law, David (Peggy) Rathje; and nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Art and Ruby; great-grandchild, Laken Hungerford; son-in-law, Paul Schermer; and brother, Owen Geisinger.
Gary's grandchildren will serve as urn bearers. Arrangements entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Annandale.
