Freida Augusta Howard, age 85 of Annandale, died Monday, November 23, 2009 at her daughter's home in Plymouth surrounded by her family.
Funeral Services will be held 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Zion Lutheran Church, Annandale. Rev. Thomas Queck will officiate and burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to services, Saturday at the church. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
Freida Augusta Howard was born August 26, 1924 in Altamont, SD to Emil and Nora (Parker) Bublitz. She graduated from high school in Clear Lake, SD; then moved to Annandale to work at a resort on Cedar Lake. Freida married Floyd Howard in Altamont, SD on January 18, 1947. She worked as the bookkeeper for Howard's Welding until Floyd's death in 1997. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she was formerly active in the Ladies Aid, Altar Guild and was a Sunday School Teacher. She was also a member of the Maple Lake V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 7664. Freida enjoyed bowling and loved to play cards.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Glen) Olsen of Plymouth; sisters, Dolores Musch of Reardan, WA and Ella Geardink of Annandale; brother in law, Gordy (Joyce) Howard of Watkins; six grandchildren, Jason, Ellen, Marc, Eric, Alysa and Monica; five great grandchildren, Ashleigh, Brooke, Kristina, Taighler and Dean; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Nora; husband, Floyd in 1997; son, Douglas in 1990; great granddaughter, Jewely; brothers, Emil and Elmer Bublitz; sister, Grace Lindner; brothers in law, William Musch, Charles Geardink and Charles Lindner; and sisters in law, Gloria and Norma Bublitz.
Pallbearers will be Ron Peterson, Dale Mitchell, Jerry Brose, Ken Seifert, Merle Marohn and Ralph Uecker. Dawn Johnson will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
