Fredrick "Fritz" Jacobs, age 81, of Kimball died Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2012 at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Kimball with Fr. Thomas Olson as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Anne's Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball and at the Church one hour prior to services. There will be a prayer service 5 p.m. Thursday.
Fredrick Edward Jacobs was born September 19, 1930 at Bird Island to Fred C. and Claudia (Ruehle) Jacobs. He graduated from Cathedral High School in 1948 and married Gloria C. Tholl on June 28, 1952 in St. Cloud. He served in Berlin during the Korean War as a member of the U.S. Army. Fritz owned & operated Jacobs Concrete Products in Kimball from 1954-1993. He was a member of St. Anne's Church, was a Trustee & Usher, and served as Chair of the Cemetery Committee. He was a member of the Bluebird Association of America and had his route as a DNR Volunteer Bluebird Monitor. He was a former member of the Kimball American Legion Post 261 and Kimball Community Club. Fritz enjoyed flying model airplanes with his twin brother Jim. He also enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, canoeing, and the cabin up north.
He is survived by his wife Gloria of Kimball, daughters Janyce (Dennis) Schmitz of Kimball, Patrice (Randy) Grossinger of Buffalo, sons Jeffrey (Debbie) of Kimball, Joseph (Kathy) of Kimball, Patrick of New London, Jon of Kimball, Daniel (Gina) of Cold Spring, Charles (Julie) of St. Paul, brother James of St. Augusta, sisters Audrey Spieker of Jordan, Elinor Kuhl of Burnsville, Mary Ann Fleming of Livingston, MT, 11 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. His parents and sister Yvonne preceded him in death.
The pallbearers will be Fritz's six sons and the music for the service will be provided by St Anne's Choir with Frosty Schiefelbein, organist. The arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Kimball.
