Frederick "Fred" Jude, age 72, of Annandale, died Friday, July 1, 2022 surrounded by his loving wife, Diane; daughter, Kelly; and son, Zachary.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2022, at Zion Lutheran Church in Annandale with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Tyler R. LaGrave will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. The service will be live streamed on the funeral home website.

Frederick Chester Jude was born October 3, 1949, in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Frederick and Irene (Warner) Jude. Fred grew up in Maple Lake and graduated from Maple Lake High School with the class of 1967. He furthered his education at St. Cloud Technical College before enlisting in the Army during the Vietnam War. He served his country honorably, and, shortly after his discharge, he began his own company-Fred Jude Construction.

On October 17, 2008, he was united in marriage to Diane (Linden) Gassman at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. Fred was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Experimental Airplane Association 878. Fred was a former member of the Maple Lake American Legion and the Minnesota Jaycees.

Fred had a zest for life that was magnetic. He had a wonderful sense of adventure that led him to become an experienced pilot and scuba diver. He will be remembered for his skill as a carpenter, his generosity, honesty, integrity, and sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife, Diane of Annandale; children, Zachary of Denver, CO and Kelly (Michael) Kallok of Big Lake; grandchildren, Erik and Tyler Schmitz; step-children, Elizabeth (Derek) Hoffman of Hutchinson, Kristin (Matthew) Mies of New Prague; step-grandchild, Andrew (Abby) Gassman; siblings, Sharon (Joel) Hagen of Spicer, Linda (Lester) Cantin of Laguna Vista, TX, Colleen (Tim) Moe of Burnsville, Larry (Sharon) Jude of Big Lake, and Dennis Jude of Buffalo; and many other family members and friends. Fred was preceded in death by his parents.

Zachary Jude, Michael Kallok, Nicholas Jude, Elliott VanGrisven, Stephen Hanson, and Matthew Hanson will serve as urn bearers.
