Obituary
Mr. Floyd T. Esjornson, age 70, of 382 Maple Ave. N., Annandale died Tuesday, August 12, 2003 at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 15, 2003 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Annandale with Rev. Victor Valencia officiating. Graveside services will be 2:15 p.m. Friday at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. Floyd`s grandchildren will be the pallbearers and honorary pallbearers. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday and 8:30-9:30 a.m. Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale. There will be a prayer service 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Memorials are preferred to the City of Annandale Parks Fund.
Floyd Theodore Esjornson was born May 2, 1933 at Maple Lake to Carl and Marie (Kalway) Esjornson. He was raised at Maple Lake and lived in the Twin Cities area from 1956-1968 when he moved to Annandale. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and married Eleanor Kantola on October 20, 1956 in Maple Lake. He worked for Unisys Corp., St. Paul for 34 years, retiring as a supervisor in 1988. Floyd and Eleanor owned and operated Shady Lawn Resort on Pleasant Lake, Annandale from 1968-1990. He was a member of the Annandale Lions Club, Maple Lake VFW Post #7664, Maple Lake American Legion Post #131, and St. Ignatius Church. Floyd enjoyed his volunteer work, gardening, and golfing.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor of Annandale; children, Mary Esjornson of Minneapolis, David (Sylvia) Esjornson of Weatherford, OK, Linda Esjornson of Minneapolis, Cary (Michael) Tvrdik of Alexandria; brother, Jim Esjornson of Annandale; and 6 grandchildren, Walter, Louise, & Elaine Esjornson, Tyler & Jacquie Marshall, and Zachary Tvrdik. His son, Stevie preceded him in death.
