Florence R. Lantto, age 71 of French Lake Township, died Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Meeker County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale with Fr. Michael Izen officiating. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service, Thursday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 27 at Riverside Cemetery in French Lake.
Florence Ramona Lantto was born May 3, 1940 in Hennepin County to Herman and Betty (Thielges) Rippberger. She lived in Maple Lake until she was married at age 20 to John Elmer Lantto at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake on June 4, 1960. Together, they lived in French Lake Township for the rest of her life. Florence worked for many places over the years, including 3M, Tonka Toys, Munsingwear Clothing, and Carlson Dolls. She was a former Girl Scout leader, enjoyed gardening, doing farm field work, sewing, baking, cooking, swimming, playing baseball with family and simply being in the outdoors.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, John of French Lake Township; children, Randy of Excelsior and Laura of Hutchinson; 3 grandchildren, Andrew, Dean and Joseph Busche; siblings, Mary (Larry) Rassatt, Jim (Carol) Rippberger, Kathy (Butch) Motzko, Lucille (Milo) Ordorff, Rose (Randy) Hughes, David (Suzanne) Rippberger, Ed (Bonnie) Rippberger, Margaret (Ken) Justen, Betty (Ron) Nalewaya, and Sheila (Jerry) Pearson; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members. Florence is preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Joseph.
Carolyn Wicks will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
