Mrs. Florence A. Peterson, age 84, of South Haven died Tuesday, March 15, 2005 in Coon Rapids.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2005 at Zion Lutheran Church, Annandale with Rev. Thomas Queck officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Annandale. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to services on Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, Annandale. There will be a prayer service 7 p.m. Thursday.
Florence Amalie Peterson was born November 17, 1920 in Victor Township, Wright County to William C. and Emma M. (Drawert) Birkholz. She married Lloyd W. Peterson July 16, 1941 in Howard Lake and he preceded her in death March 3, 2001. Florence worked 30 years for American Can Company of St. Paul and retired in 1979. She lived in Columbia Heights for many years before moving to Lake Sylvia, rural South Haven in 1980 and has lived in Coon Rapids the past 5 months. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Annandale where she was active in the LWML and Busy Needles. Florence was a former member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Columbia Heights. She loved her family, making quilts, gardening and flowers.
Florence is survived by her son, David (Helena) Peterson of Coon Rapids; sister, Esther Edwards of St. Louis Park; grandchildren, Lisa (Eric) Rixe and David (Carmen) Peterson Jr.; and a great grandson, Dylan Peterson. She was preceded in death by 7 brothers and 1 sister.
Pallbearers will be David Peterson Jr., Eric Rixe, Irvin Hausladen, Rick Birkholz, Bill Edwards and Bradley Peterson. The organist for the funeral will be Julie Starke.
