Florence A. Vieau, age 89, of Buffalo passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Sunrise Cottages, Buffalo.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Waverly with Fr. Kenneth O'Hotto officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Parish Center, Waverly and at the Church one hour prior to services. There will be a prayer service 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Florence Agnes Vieau was born January 20, 1922 in Browerville to John and Mary (Wrobel) Goligowski. She attended St. Joseph's Catholic Elementary School in Browerville and was a 1939 graduate of Browerville High School. On May 24, 1952 she married Hector "Bob" Vieau at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Minneapolis. Florence and Bob farmed near Waverly until 1982 when they retired and moved to rural Maple Lake. Florence was a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Waverly and St. Luke's Catholic Church, Clearwater. Above all, Florence loved and cared for her family and enjoyed her grandchildren. She spent many happy hours dancing, sewing, and gardening.
She will be lovingly missed by her five children, Rick of Waverly, Brian of Sauk Rapids, Joy (Wayne) Westphal of Vadnais Heights, Mona (Richard) Lehman of Blaine, Amy (Glenn) Steffen of Chanhassen; five grandchildren Penny Westphal, Annie Lehman, Blake, Carter, & Abby Steffen; sisters Albina Biermaier of Clarissa, Irene Benning of Clarissa, Mary (Ron) Nelson of Jenson Beach, FL, and brother Herman (Norma) Goligowski of Carmichael, CA; also many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hector, brother Roman Goligowski, and sisters Justine Lopata, Catherine Carlson, and Tillie Brown.
The pallbearers will be Rick Vieau, Brian Vieau, Wayne Westphal, Richard Lehman, Glenn Steffen, and Blake Steffen. The arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Maple Lake.
