Fern M. Wittenberg, age 83, of South Haven died Thursday, April 4, 2013 at her home.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 8, 2013 at Zion United Methodist Church, South Haven with Rev. Ruth Hograbe officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery, South Haven. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to services at the church. There will be a prayer service 5 p.m. Sunday.
Fern Margaret Wittenberg was born February 15, 1930 in Fair Haven Township, Stearns County to Edward and Elsie (Schram) Pramann. She married Norman G. Wittenberg on May 26, 1946 in South Haven and he preceded her in death on June 25, 1983. She was a homemaker and worked for Wyman Manufacturing and then for 24 years at Marv's Red Owl in Annandale. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women, a Sunday school teacher and release time teacher. She was PTA President, a 4-H Leader, and an Election Judge. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening, putting puzzles together, and playing cards & dominos.
She is survived by children Kathleen Bodeker-Hull (Lyman Hull) of St. Joseph, James (Karen) of Fort Worth, TX, Bruce of Anchorage, AK, Darlene Randall (Duane) of Shakopee, son in law Bruce Guggisberg of St. Cloud, sisters Bernice Zweig (Paul) of Shoreview, Elsie Player of Rancho Cordova, CA, brother Robert Pramann of Big Bear Lake, CA, sisters in law Jeanette Pramann of South Haven, Shirley Pramann of New Hope, 15 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Donna Guggisberg, sisters Lorraine Bechtel, Kathleen Pramann, and brothers Warren & Edward Pramann.
The pallbearers will be Norman & Ryan Bodeker, Nicholas & Michael Guggisberg, Nathan Hesse, and John Lebens. The organist will be Jamie Miller and the arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
