Obituary
Mr. Eugene W. Happle (Gene), age 87, of 11651 Knowles Ave. NW, Annandale passed away Monday, October 6, 2003 at the Annandale Care Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2003 at St. Luke`s Catholic Parish Center, Clearwater. Interment will follow in St. Luke`s Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services. Arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
Gene was born October 3, 1916 at Ashland, WI to Peter and Mary (Roehling) Happle. He was employed by Honeywell, Inc. in Minneapolis and then in Dayton, Ohio, as an Aeronautical Salesman for 40 years, retiring in 1984. He has lived in Annandale for the past 19 years, previously living in Dayton, OH. Gene enjoyed many hobbies, including flying, woodworking, and as a HAM radio operator.
He is survived by nephews, Terry Ophus & his wife, Carol of Annandale, Robert Ophus of Annandale, Corey Ophus & his wife, Chris of Eden Prairie; children, Amy Coffey of West Carrollton, OH, Peggy Lightner of Union, OH, Ruthie Coppersmith & her husband, Jim of Dayton, OH, Cinda Kratzer of Union, OH, Matt Pequignot of San Francisco, CA, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 27 years, May Ophus, his second wife of 18 years, Grace Marie Mathews, and one sister, Mildred Happle.
