Obituary
Eugene Arthur Dahl, age 70 passed away November 25, 2008 at the Annandale Care Center.
Memorial services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale. Rev. Dave Nelson will officiate and burial will be in Brandvold Cemetery in Rosholt, SD. Friends may call from 1:00 - 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Eugene Arthur Dahl was born February 11, 1938 to Arthur and Minnie (Beistad) Dahl. He grew up on the family farm near Victor, SD, attended grade school at Victor #2 and graduated from Rosholt High School in 1956. Gene loved to fish and hunt.
After graduating from high school, Gene served 4 years in the U.S. Navy, stationed on the USS Lexington as an air traffic controller, sailing the Mid-East. Eugene worked for Toledo Scale Co. in Minneapolis and Rochester and as a gauger for Coastal Oil in Houston, TX, retiring in 1999. He resided in Houston, TX for over 30 years. He arrived back in Minnesota in November of 2003 and resided at St. Cloud Veterans Medical Center until moving to the Annandale Care Center in May of 2005.
Survivors include his brother, Harvey (Joyce) of South Haven; sisters, Ellen (Curtis) Nelson of Fairmont and Linda Moore of Delano; step-daughter, Kathleen (Lynn) Carter; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Owena (Rusty) Dahl; niece, Denise Dahl Pool; and brother-in-law, Ronald Moore.
Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
