Ethelyn Violet Schultz, age 77, of Annandale died Friday, July 28, 2006 at her home.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at Annandale Evangelical Free Church with Rev. Dennis Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Annandale. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Prayer service will be held 7:00 p.m. Monday at the church.
Ethelyn was born March 6, 1929 in Anoka to Carl and Ruby (Lindstrom) Gunnerson. She graduated from Annandale High School in 1946 and married Louis Albert Schultz on January 8, 1949 in Maple Lake at Bethlehem United Church of Christ. He preceded her in death on April 3, 1998. Ethelyn was a homemaker and farmed with her husband. She was employed over the years in various local businesses; most recently she worked as a receptionist at the H & R Block office in Annandale for her son-in-law. She was a member of the Annandale Evangelical Free Church. Ethelyn enjoyed teaching Sunday school, gardening, Grandmas in Touch prayer group, bible studies, going to grandchildren`s activities, and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her children & their spouses, Glen and Nancy Schultz, Carol and Robert Purcell, and Barry and Denise Schultz, all of Annandale; sister, Evelyn Holland of Buffalo; sister-in-law Eleanor Gunnerson of Cokato, 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Roberta Jean Purcell; great grandson, Damien Schultz; and brother, Rodney Gunnerson.
The pallbearers will be Jared Purcell, Joshua Purcell, James Purcell, Jesse Purcell, Adam Schultz, Matthew Schultz, and Kurt Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Joelle Bishop, Jeanette Purcell, Rebekah Schultz, Michaela Johnson, Michelle Schultz and Heather Schultz. Phyllis Johnson, pianist, and Jolie Holland, soloist, will provide the music for the funeral. Arrangements were made by Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale.
