Ethel St. John, age 92, of New Hope died Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Northridge Care Center, New Hope.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with Funeral Services held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 17, 2010 at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale. Curtis St. John will conduct the services and burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Rockford.
Ethel St. John was born May 20, 1918 to William L. and Anna E. (Luscomb) Thoms. She married Cecil E. St. John on January 2, 1941 in Butte, Montana and he preceded her in death on June 28, 2001. She lived in Annandale from 1989-2005 previously living on Briggs Lake near Clear Lake, Minneapolis, Bay River, and Bull Head City. Ethel owned and operated the Buckhorn Night Club on Big Boy Lake and then Horn of Plenty Drive Inn, Blaine. She enjoyed running her businesses, card playing, and her family.
She is survived by her four children & their spouses Bonnie & Robert Pool of Rockford, Joy & Frank Peters of Hopkins, Darlene & Ronald Dopp of Clear Lake, Curtis & Jill St. John of Henderson, NV, nine grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren. Her husband and four brothers preceded her in death.
The pallbearers will be Richard & Rebecca Pedersen, Tamara & Dana Vraspir, Jill Peters, Matthew St. John, and Marshall Franzman. The arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
