Obituary

Mr. Ervin E. Pete Cargill, age 76, of Cokato died Friday, November 8, 2002 at the Cokato Manor Nursing Home, Cokato.

Funeral services were held 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 11, 2002 at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale with Rev. Stephen M. Sherer and Pastor Peter Harrington officiating. Burial followed in Grace South Side Cemetery, Annandale.

Ervin Everett Pete Cargill was born April 11, 1926 in Halfa, IA to Thomas and Harriet (Gangstad) Cargill. On September 12, 1948 he married Gloria F. Stueve in Jackson, MN. Pete was a farmer and mechanic for Kay Motors, St. Louis Park. He owned and operated Coin & Cone, Annandale from 1980-1985. He lived in Brooklyn Park, Annandale area, and traveled for 11 years before moving to Cokato in 1998. Pete loved his family, traveling, fishing, snowmobiling, and a good joke.

Pete is survived by his wife, Gloria of Cokato; sons, Roger (Sharon Huikko) Cargill of Annandale, Richard Cargill of Annandale, Randy (Jane) Cargill of Annandale; daughter, Rebecca (Al) Matheson of Blaine; mother, Harriet Edwards of Ceylon; half sister, Virginia Sabin of Wanamingo; half brothers, Dennis Cargill of CA, Jim Cargill of FL; 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Cargill; step father, Wilmot Edwards; daughter, Robin Cargill; half sister, Dorothy Gudahl.

The pallbearers were his 10 grandchildren, Sal Cargill, Lori Cargill, John Cargill, Dallas Cargill, Janelle Stankeivicz, Brad Cargill, Dusty Ruff, Jessie Cargill, Stacy Matheson, and Michael Matheson.

Arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care, Annandale, Minnesota.
