Erma F. Jude, age 92, of Maple Lake died Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Park View Care Center in Buffalo.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 17, 2015 at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake with Fr. John Meyer as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Timothy Catholic Cemetery in Maple Lake. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday, both at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Maple Lake. A prayer service will be held 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral chapel.

Erma Frances Jude was born March 1, 1923 in Monticello to Arch and Ella (Sullivan) Ring. She graduated with the Class of 1940 from Maple Lake High School; she continued her education at St. Cloud State University where she earned a degree in Education. Erma served her country during WWII with U.S. Navy WAVES; she was stationed in San Francisco with the Fleet Post Office. On October 5, 1948, she was united in marriage to James Jerald Jude at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake. Erma worked as a teacher for 25 years, 19 of those years were spent in the Rockford School District; she retired in 1985. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and traveling.

She is survived by her children Michael (Katie) of Maple Lake, Thomas (Peggy) of Seattle, WA, Joseph (Brenda) of Monticello and Mary Jo (Jerry) Sawatzke of Maple Lake; 10 grandchildren Ryan, Aaron, Adam, Michael, Jason, Jonathan, Amber, David, Leah and Rachel; and 14 great grandchildren Cody, Alayna, Makenna, Sergey, Sophie, Jaxson, Weston, Tatum, Piper, Grady, Josie, Bailey, Audrey and Avery. She is preceded in death by her parents Arch and Ella Ring; husband Jerry Jude; sisters Dorthea Chapman and Mary Manny; and brothers Robert Ring and Miles Ring.

The casket bearers will be Ryan, Aaron, Jason, Jonathan and Michael Jude and David Sawatzke. Krista Elsenpeter Tarbox and Shannon Paumen will provide the music for the service. Military honors will be provided by the Maple Lake VFW & Maple Lake American Legion Honor Guard and the Minnesota National Guard Honor Guard.
