Ellen M. Fobbe, age 54, of Maple Lake died Monday, February 5, 2007 at the Buffalo Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 8, 2007 at St. Timothy`s Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Fr. Mark Huberty officiating. Interment will follow in St. Timothy`s Cemetery. Friends may call from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake.
Ellen Marie Fobbe was born August 13, 1952 in Buffalo to Donald and Naomi (Stuhr) Fobbe. She graduated from Maple Lake High School in 1970 and then attended St. Cloud State University. In May of 1971 she was involved in an automobile accident and sustained a spinal cord injury leaving her paralyzed. Ellen was able to live on her own for the past 35 years despite this disability. She lived in San Diego, CA from 1978-2000 and graduated from San Diego State University. Ellen enjoyed putting puzzles together, making individualized greeting cards on her computer, and her family & friends.
She is survived by her parents, Donald & Naomi Fobbe of Maple Lake; brothers & sisters, Betty (George) Veches of Buffalo, Diane (Joe) Cassellius of Annandale, Sue (Noel) Johnson of Maple Grove, Anne (Joe) Hollencamp of Maple Lake, Tim of Annandale, Kim (Bill) Ziegler of Alexandria, Ken of Annandale; 13 nieces & nephews; 3 great nieces & nephews; also many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harry & Mabel Stuhr, John & Ellen Fobbe, and great nephew, Baby George.
The honorary pallbearers will be her lifelong friends, Becky Mead, Bonnie Ertel, Ramona Maki, Mike Elsenpeter, Roger Fobbe, Jane Decker, Joann Schmit and Debbie Norine. Krista Elsenpeter and Sarah Goelz will provide the music for the service.
