Obituary

Elizabeth E. Meckle, age 83, of Annandale died Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church, Annandale with Rev. Thomas Queck officiating.  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Annandale.  Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to the service, Thursday, at the church.

Elizabeth Emma Meckle was born on her family's farm in Anamoose, ND on April 9, 1932 to Emil and Caroline (Thomssen) Schnase.  She was baptized on May 21, 1932 and confirmed on July 7, 1946, both at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Anamoose.  She graduated from Anamoose High School. On April 14, 1951, Betty was united in marriage to Eldon Arthur Meckle in Anamoose, ND. She enjoyed old time county music and westerns, visiting with friends, traveling to North Dakota, baking and keeping her yard looking neat.

Betty is survived by her son & his wife Larry & Ronda Meckle of Annandale; daughter-in-law Jodie Linn of Minneapolis; grandchildren Gwen Meckle, Kim Capko, Kelly Erickson and Gary Meckle; and great grandchildren Kali, Emma, Jessa, Isaac, Ziva, Rylee and Scarlet.  She is preceded in death by parents Emil and Caroline Schnase; husband Eldon Meckle in 1987; sons Tommy Meckle in 1975 and Edwin Meckle in 1991; and by an older sister.

The casket bearers will be Larry and Gary Meckle, Kim and Erik Capko, and Kelly and Dustin Erickson.  Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
