Eleanor Jean Pottorf, age 93 of Maple Lake died Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at the Parkview Care Center in Buffalo.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care, Maple Lake.
Eleanor Jean Pottorf was born on April 6, 1918 in Joplin, MO to Jerome and Ellen (Carlson) Vinyard. She was united in marriage to Harold "Hal" Pottorf in Wichita, KS. Eleanor worked as a telephone operator in Joplin, MO, then as an electronics technician at Cessna in Wichita, KS and at various places in Oregon. She is a former member of Glenville Baptist Church in Wichita, KS and Unity Christ Church in Golden Valley, MN. Eleanor enjoyed creating art, especially oil painting and photography. She also enjoyed archery and traveling. Her family was her love.
She is survived by her daughter, Joan Bailey of Maple Lake; grandchildren, Paula (Joe) Muller of Maple Lake, Raquel Allan of Wichita, KS and Jacque Morgan of Hutchinson, KS; brother, Lon Vinyard of Jacksonville, FL; four great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jerome and Ellen; son, Andrew; brother, Pat Vinyard; and sister, Ann Winchester.
