Eileen D. Hannon Morey, age 89, of Maple Lake died Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Parkview Care Center in Buffalo.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake. Fr. Michael Izen will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Friday and from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, both at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Eileen Doris Hannon Morey was born June 12, 1920 in Chatham Township, Wright County to George and Martha (Flanigan) Hance. She married John Hannon in 1950 and he preceded her in death in 1966. In 1971 she was united in marriage to Wayne Morey. Eileen was an elementary teacher in Maple Lake and Annandale, retiring in 1984. She was a member of St. Timothy's Catholic Church, where she was in the C.C.W. She was also a member of the Maple Lake American Legion Auxiliary Post 131, VFW Auxiliary Post 7664 and the Wright Time Club. Eileen enjoyed card playing, bingo, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne; daughter and her husband, Joy & Jay O'Donnell of Buffalo; and two grandchildren, Maggie & J.D. O'Donnell. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Martha Hance; first husband, John Hannon; son, Daniel Hannon; sisters, Catherine Ahlm & Marie Nichols; and brother, George Hance.
Sarah Goelz, soloist and Krista Elsenpeter Tarbox, pianist will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Maple Lake.
